Assault video: Why we won’t prosecute Diddy – LA District Attorney’s office

Music executive, Diddy recounts the incident that made him vow he won't be poor in life

The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office has announced that they will not be pursuing charges against Sean Combs, also known as Diddy, despite recently surfaced video footage allegedly showing him assaulting his former artist and ex-girlfriend, Cassie, in a hotel hallway in Los Angeles.

The office stated that no case related to the incident in the video has been presented to them for prosecution.

In a statement, the office said “if the conduct depicted occurred in 2016, unfortunately we would be unable to charge as the conduct occurred beyond the timeline where a crime of assault can be prosecuted”.

However, the LA Attorney’s office encouraged victims and witnesses to come forward to law enforcement or seek assistance from the Bureau of Victims Services.
