The Presidency has come to the defense of President Bola Tinubu following criticism over his fall at Eagles Square in Abuja.
According to Tinubu’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, his boss is human and not a superman, pointing out that even Presidents Joe Biden and Barack Obama have had slips in the past.
He wrote: “President Tinubu is not a Superman. He is human like all of us. President Biden has had several slips in the last three years. Even the younger Barack Obama slipped while President.
“Political leaders are human. Slipping should not detract from the import of Democracy Day celebration.”
During the 2024 Democracy Day celebration at Eagles Square, Tinubu slipped while attempting to board a parade vehicle shortly after arriving at the venue.
