I live in a rented apartment in Abuja – Dangote

Petroleum Industry Bill Would only give permission to Dangote to Import Fuel

Africa’s wealthiest individual, Mr. Aliko Dangote, recently shared that the residence he occupies when in Nigeria’s capital city, Abuja, is not owned by him.

Speaking at a media briefing at the Dangote Petroleum Refinery in Lagos State, Dangote emphasized his commitment to industrializing Nigeria as the primary reason why he does not own any properties abroad.

He mentioned that although he previously owned a house in London, he made the decision to sell it in 1996.

“I don’t have a London or America house because I wanted to focus on industrialization in Nigeria. I figured that if I had those houses, there would be one reason or another for me to visit those places, thereby causing a distraction for me.

“I am very passionate about the Nigerian dream, and apart from my Lagos house, I have another one in my home state, Kano and a rented one in Abuja,” he revealed.

In her closing remarks, the Group Executive Director of Commercial Operations, Fatima Dangote, commended Mr. Dangote for never giving up on the Nigerian dream.

“I have not seen anyone as hardworking as my father; sometimes I wonder how he never gives up. I wish we had a few more men like my father in Nigeria; the country would be a better place,” she said.
