Consultations on minimum wage between Organised Labour and President Bola Tinubu have once again ended without reaching a conclusive agreement.

The meeting, initiated by President Tinubu, concluded with no significant resolutions being made. Labour leaders leaving the meeting stated that discussions with the Presidency will continue next week, as they need to report back to their respective organizations.

Joe Ajaero, President of the Nigeria Labour Congress, reiterated that Labour is standing firm on their demand for N250,000, while the Federal Government is proposing N62,000. It is important to note that Nigerians, particularly the workforce, are eagerly awaiting a decision on a new minimum wage from the government.
