#EndBadGovernance: Nigerian Army threatens to take action if protest escalates

Army denies Judicial panel access to inspect military morgue

The Chief of Defence Staff, Christopher Musa, has threatened that the Nigerian Army will intervene if the ongoing demonstration worsens.

Musa made the statement while speaking with the media on Friday, referring to the country’s current violent level.

Since August 1, Nigerians have been protesting hardship, hunger, and other forms of socioeconomic stress in their country.

Taking advantage of the circumstances, hoodlums hijacked the protest on Thursday, vandalizing and looting people’s property.

Musa responded that the military is on high alert and fully prepared to intervene if the protests intensify.

Recall that Nigeria’s Minister of Defence, Mohammed Badaru Abubakar, praised the National Council for Civil Society for not participating in the ongoing protests.

He highlighted President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s numerous initiatives that will turn the economy around for the benefit of all Nigerians.

“He is just one year in office and he has done very well and I know that with these initiatives, we will soon start to see the positive results.”
