Matthijs de Ligt, the top transfer target for Manchester United, is currently under investigation by police for a hit-and-run incident in Bavaria.
The Dutch defender, who currently plays for Bayern Munich after transferring from Juventus in 2022, reportedly crashed into a parked car near the team’s training ground.
Instead of reporting the incident, De Ligt allegedly fled the scene, prompting a witness to contact the authorities.
Although the player could face a fine for his actions, a Munich lawyer stated that the maximum punishment could be up to three years in prison, depending on the circumstances of the accident.
The police have not yet issued a formal statement regarding the matter.
