Award-winning comedian and actor Ali Baba has strongly disapproved of men who ask their wives to quit higher-paying jobs due to feelings of insecurity.
Reacting to a story of a man who told his wife to resign because she earned more than him, Ali Baba took to Instagram to express his disbelief.
He questioned whether women truly fall for such manipulative demands, calling it absurd for a woman earning ₦10 million to quit while her husband earns only ₦1.5 million.
The comedian argued that a man’s self-confidence should not be tied to financial status, advising that if the woman earns more, the man should quit his job.
He also criticized how some men feel intimidated by women who exude wealth and prosperity, labeling such men as “lazy bumcums” whose insecurities stem from financial inferiority.
Ali Baba urged men to see their partner’s success as motivation to upgrade their own financial standing instead of feeling emasculated.
He concluded by questioning the upbringing of men whose self-esteem is defined by their financial status, comparing them to successful partnerships like Stedman and Oprah Winfrey, where mutual respect prevails despite financial differences.
