Liverpool Kick Off Carabao Cup Defence with Convincing 5-1 win over West Ham

Liverpool began their Carabao Cup championship defence with a 5-1 victory over West Ham, fuelled by goals from Diogo Jota and Cody Gakpo and a strike by Mohammed Salah.

West Ham took the lead early on thanks to Jarell Quansah’s own goal, but Liverpool seized control from there.

Edson Alvarez was sent off for fouling Salah while already booked, adding to the Hammers’ troubles.
