Manchester United manager, Erik ten Hag, acknowledges the importance of winning games to maintain support from the club’s hierarchy and secure his job.
Newly-appointed United CEO, Omar Berrada, publicly supported Ten Hag after consecutive defeats against Brighton and Liverpool.
The defeats have left the Red Devils in 14th place before their upcoming match against Southampton on Saturday.
With pressure mounting on him just three games into the season, he cannot afford to lose this crucial game.
“In football you have to win, you have to deliver, that’s clear,” he said.
“It’s good that the new leadership acknowledges this and says this. We are working together to be more successful and we have higher targets than we’ve already achieved.”
