Shettima Touches Down in New York for the 79th UNGA

Kashim Shettima, Nigeria’s vice president, has landed in New York.
He is in the United States to represent his country at the 79th United Nations General Assembly.

Stanley Nkwocha, Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Communications (Office of the Vice President), confirmed this in a statement this morning.

According to Nkwocha, Shettima arrived at John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York in the early hours of Monday.

Shettima arrives New York for 79th UNGAHe stated that upon arrival, the vice president was greeted by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Amb. Yusuf Tuggar, and the Minister of Communications, Innovation, and Digital Economy, Dr. Bosun Tijani.

Others present included Kashifu Inuwa, Director-General of the National Information Technology Development Agency, as well as Nigerian ambassadors, UN officials, and others.

Shettima is leading Nigeria’s delegation to this year’s UNGA.

He will also be delivering Nigeria’s national statement and participate in various high-level meetings.
