2027 election not on my mind now – Tinubu

Tinubu orders suspension of cybersecurity levy

President Bola Tinubu has said that he is not preoccupied with the forthcoming 2027 general elections; rather, he is devoted to the reformation of the economy to enhance the welfare of the Nigerian populace.

This declaration coincides with the sentiments expressed by various distinguished members of the All Progressives Congress (APC), such as the former national chairman, Chief Bisi Akande, the previous governor of Ogun State, Aremo Olusegun Osoba, Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, alongside governors from Ogun, Ondo, and Ekiti states—Dapo Abiodun, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, and Biodun Oyebanji, respectively—who have voiced their endorsement for President Tinubu’s re-election and the triumph of all APC candidates in the year 2027.

Tinubu and the party leaders articulated these remarks during the 2024 South West Assembly of the APC, convened on Saturday at Victoria Island, hosted by Governor Sanwo-Olu, who functions as the zonal coordinator of the party.

The event was attended by party leaders and stakeholders hailing from the South-West, encompassing senators, members of the House of Representatives, State House of Assembly representatives, local government officials, and senior party representatives.

During the occasion, former Ekiti State governor, Kayode Fayemi, presented the keynote address, commending the president as a “listening leader” endowed with a formidable resolve to achieve success.

Tinubu, represented by his chief of staff, Femi Gbajabiamila, implored Nigerians to exercise patience with his administration, which is wholeheartedly dedicated to the authentic advancement of the citizenry.
