Bournemouth upset Arsenal’s undefeated start this season with a 2-0 win at Vitality Stadium, capitalizing on William Saliba’s first-half red card.
Saliba was sent off in the 29th minute for tripping Evanilson, leaving Arsenal to face a tough 60-minute test.
Despite initial resistance, Bournemouth broke through in the 70th minute with Ryan Christie’s superb shot from a great corner routine.
Substitute Justin Kluivert clinched the victory with a confident penalty kick in the 79th minute after Raya fouled Evanilson.
Bournemouth’s victory ended a four-game losing streak against Arsenal and moved them up to 10th. Arsenal missed the opportunity to go top before Liverpool’s match against Chelsea.
The loss is a significant blow for Arsenal, who had previously salvaged points in difficult situations against Manchester City and Brighton.
