Efia Odo, a Ghanaian socialite and actress, did not hold back on a candid episode of her Rants & Bants podcast, where she discussed her thoughts on submission in partnerships.
She believes that a woman should not be forced to submit; it must be earned by the proper guy.
Efia made it plain that for her to be submissive, the male had to meet specific criteria. “Before I surrender to a man, he must have a certain level of responsibility.
“You must be a provider, a man who respects himself, and someone I can grow with and learn from,” she stated.
She explained that when a man shows leadership and truly is a man, submission becomes natural for a woman.
Why wouldn’t a woman be submissive if the man is doing what he’s supposed to do?” she asked. But she didn’t stop there. Efia questioned the sense in expecting submission from a man who isn’t pulling his weight. “If a guy isn’t doing anything, why would you expect a woman to be submissive? It doesn’t make sense.”
