Former Barcelona legend Andrés Iniesta is on the verge of hanging up his boots and retiring from professional football at the age of 40.
Widely considered as one of the greatest players in the history of the sport, Iniesta will make his official retirement announcement on October 8 after a career that has lasted over two decades.
In an anticipation video uploaded on his X page on Tuesday, Iniesta wrote, “Coming soon 8/10/24.”
During his time with Barcelona, Iniesta made 674 appearances for the senior team, scoring 57 goals and providing 135 assists for the iconic Spanish club.
He also amassed an impressive collection of 32 trophies, including nine La Liga titles, four Champions League victories, and six Copa del Rey triumphs.
