Jonathan Majors’ highly anticipated film Magazine Dreams is set to return to theaters after being acquired by Searchlight Pictures.
The film received positive reviews at the Sundance Film Festival 2023, with many praising Majors’ performance.
However, his career was temporarily derailed after he faced allegations of abuse by his then-partner, resulting in a high-profile trial where he was acquitted of the more severe charges but found guilty of third-degree assault and second-degree harassment.
Though he avoided jail and was sentenced to probation and therapy, his career took a hit.
Indeed, the 43-year-old was dropped by his management, publicists, and Marvel Studios. With Searchlight quietly cutting ties, ‘Magazine Dreams’ was scrubbed from release schedules.
Now, the Elijah Bynum-directed film has been picked up by distributor Briarcliff and a Q1 2025 release has been set.
