Liam Payne’s family has released a heartfelt statement following the singer’s shocking death last night (October 16).
According to reports, the One Direction singer died after falling from his hotel’s third-floor balcony in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
He was only 31.
Payne’s family has broken their silence in response to an outpouring of sympathy from fans and contemporaries in pop.
The Paynes’ statement read:
“We are heartbroken. Liam will forever live in our hearts and we’ll remember him for his kind, funny and brave soul.
We are supporting each other the best we can as a family and ask for privacy and space at this awful time.”
Payne is survived by his seven-year-old son, Bear, who he shares with UK singer Cheryl Cole.
He is also mourned by his father, mother, and two older sisters.
