Authorities at the Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID) in Alagbon, Lagos, are said to have obtained a court order to hold controversial cross-dresser Bobrisky in detention while investigations are ongoing.
Bobrisky was apprehended on Monday by Nigeria Immigration Service personnel at the Seme border in Badagry as he attempted to exit the nation.
He was handed over to FCID authorities and is currently being kept at their facility.
A senior police official, who declined to be named, acknowledged that they obtained a court order for Bobrisky’s ongoing custody.
“We have gone to court to get a detention order from a court to keep Bobrisky pending the outcome of investigation or further directive from higher authority.”
After his arrest, Bobrisky was held at the Seme Area Command until Tuesday, when he was moved to Alagbon under armed escort.
His arrival at FCID reportedly caused a stir, with some officers gathering to see him before he was taken to the Assistant Inspector General of Police’s office, where he was briefly questioned.
