Serie A: Napoli don’t deserve to be top of table – Conte

Napoli appoint Conte new Head Coach

Antonio Conte, the manager of Napoli, declared that he believes his team does not merit being at the top of Serie A.

This statement came after Napoli’s 3-1 victory over Como on Friday, with goals from Scott McTominay, Romelu Lukaku, and David Neres securing the win.

Despite a surprising loss to Hellas Verona in their first league match, Napoli has remained undefeated since then and currently leads the Serie A table by four points ahead of Juventus.

“I don’t know if this is currently a Napoli that deserves to be in first place in the standings, but we are first and that is a fact,” Conte said to DAZN.

“If someone had told me this three months ago, it would have been difficult to believe.

“We’re growing in terms of temperament, and in our ability to adapt-playing good football, but also willing to get our hands dirty when we need to. That’s a great sign, and we have to embrace it fully.”
