Argentina captain Lionel Messi acknowledges that he is nearing the conclusion of his professional football career. Currently holding the record for the most trophies in football history, the Inter Miami forward is in the twilight of his remarkable football journey.
In an interview with Marca, the 37-year-old, who has already accumulated 45 trophies in his illustrious career, expressed his loyalty to Argentina and Barcelona, considering them his home.
“The end is near and I’m enjoying and valuing every moment as maximum as possible,” he said.
Argentina and Barcelona are my home. Today I am also in a place where I feel very happy, a new stage in my life.”
Messi, who has previously played for Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain, has also proudly won both the FIFA World Cup and the Copa America in recent years.
Having been honored with eight Ballon d’Or awards, Messi’s legacy as one of the greatest footballers of all time is undeniable.
