Renowned Nigerian singer, Simi, has provided valuable advice for parents on raising their daughters.
In a recent video shared on her Instagram page, she emphasized the importance of teaching young girls to be independent and secure their own financial future.
She criticized the practice of parents hoping for their daughters to marry wealthy men, urging them instead to empower their daughters to not rely on others for financial stability.
Simi stressed the need to nurture girls to be self-sufficient and not dependent on men.
“Parents raise your daughters to be self sufficient and not to think that when they grow up, all they have to do is rely on someone to take care of them.
“There is security in being independent. A woman’s economic power is in fending for herself and being able to confidently acknowledge that she’s a complete person. Let them know that you are standing strong,” she said.
