A Turkish national airline was compelled to execute an emergency landing in New York, following the unfortunate demise of a pilot who collapsed during the flight, as stated by the airline on Wednesday.

As per the airline’s representative, Yahya Ustun, who communicated via X, previously known as Twitter, the aircraft had departed from Seattle, a city located on the western coast of the United States, on Tuesday evening.

“After an unsuccessful attempt to give first aid, the flight crew of another pilot and a co-pilot decided to make an emergency landing, but he died before landing,” he wrote.

Ustun added that the 59-year-old pilot had worked for Turkish Airlines since 2007, and had passed a medical examination in March, which gave no indication of any health problems.
