NYSC announces name change no longer required for redeployment

Man who became a viral NYSC meme debunks claim of becoming a POS operator after service

The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has confirmed that married female corps members seeking redeployment will no longer be required to change their names.

This is disclosed in a circular signed by the service’s Director Corps Mobilisation, Abubakar Mohammed.

The circular noted that management has approved the review of criteria for approving concessional deployment/relocation of married female corps members.

It stated that state coordinators are to be informed that “Changing a maiden name to that of a spouse is no longer a requirement for the approval of such request by married female corps members.

“Other requirements remain as they were.”

It maintained that state/FCT Coordinators are to ensure strict compliance with the directives, and directors area offices are to monitor the implementation.
