Oscar Mbo, a popular DJ, is facing criticism in Limpopo after reports that he disrupted Makhadzi and Karishma concerts, with fans and venues pushing for his ban from local events. According to MDN News, tensions rose as charges arose that Oscar Mbo interfered with Makhadzi’s set at the Macufe Festival by allegedly removing her USB during her performance, as well as prematurely ending Karishma’s show at FNB Stadium.
As a result, a planned event at Limpopo’s Noko Resort has been postponed for safety reasons. Fans of Makhadzi and Karishma reportedly made threats against Oscar Mbo, causing the resort to reconsider hosting the event with him on the roster.
In an official statement, Noko Resort explained, “In light of recent events, we at Noko Resort have made the difficult decision to postpone our highly anticipated event, originally scheduled for Saturday, 2 November 2024. This decision comes after thorough deliberation and in response to threats directed toward one of our main performers. Our top priority is the safety and well-being of everyone involved—our loyal patrons, talented performers, partners, and dedicated staff.”
The statement also acknowledged the disappointment felt by fans and reassured ticket holders that plans are underway for a rescheduled date. “For those who have already purchased tickets, we kindly advise you to hold onto them, as we will announce a new date very soon. Alternatively, if you prefer, you may request a full refund at your point of purchase (Computicket),” the statement added. Noko Resort promised special rewards for fans who choose to retain their tickets.
