Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has cried out to have his players back amidst his side’s poor run of form. The Spaniard said that it’s very difficult to play when two of his holding midfielders and central defenders are out.
According to Pep Guardiola, the Citizens will have a rough ride with the best player, Rodri, also out for the entire season. Guardiola said that they will be back to flying once he has the team back.
“Just give me my players back! Give me my players back.. and you will see! It’s difficult to play without 4 central defenders, with 2 holding midfielders being out. With the best player in the world Rodri being out for a whole season. When you had 4 wingers and now just 1. Just give me my players back and you will see Manchester City!”
It should be noted that Manchester City has lost five games on the bounce. This has never happened to the former Barcelona coach in his career. He lost 4-0 to Sporting Lisbon in the UEFA Champions League before his side succumbed to Bournemouth in the league.
The club thought they would have a breather when the international break came around.
But it was the same story when club football resumed last weekend. At their grounds, the Etihad, Tottenham Hotspurs demolished the league champions 4-0.
Some players out for City include Ruben Dias, Oscar Bobb, Rodri, Jeremy Doku and Mateo Kovacic. The club will hope to return to winning ways tonight. They host Feyenoord in the Champions League before a mouth-watering clash against Liverpool on Sunday.
