Portugal’s captain, Cristiano Ronaldo, has sent good wishes to the new Manchester United head coach as he starts his work at the Premier League club.
Ronaldo is pleased that his fellow countryman has been appointed to lead the Red Devils.
The new coach, Amorim, has taken over from Erik ten Hag, with whom Ronaldo had a well-known disagreement before his second departure from Old Trafford.
Speaking after scoring in Portugal’s 5-1 win over Poland on Friday evening, Ronaldo said: “I wish Man United and Ruben Amorim the best of luck in the world”.
Amorim’s first game in charge of United will be away to Ipswich after the international break.
