Three individuals have been formally charged in relation to the death of Liam Payne.
On Thursday, authorities in Argentina verified that one individual who was present with Payne during his visit to Buenos Aires has been charged with “the abandonment of a person resulting in death and the provision and facilitation of narcotics.”
A hotel staff member and an additional individual have also been charged with the provision of drugs to the artist.
The identities of those apprehended have yet to be disclosed.
The public prosecutor’s office has corroborated that toxicological analyses revealed the presence of alcohol, cocaine, and prescribed antidepressants in Liam Payne’s biological system at the time of his demise.
Investigators meticulously scrutinized extensive hours of surveillance footage from security cameras, in conjunction with Liam Payne’s cellular communications and messages, to ascertain his last activities. His laptop, along with other electronic devices, remains under examination.
The artist known for “Strip That Down” was residing at the Casa Sur Hotel in Buenos Aires when the fall occurred. An autopsy determined that the British performer succumbed to internal and external hemorrhaging as a consequence of the fall.
Earlier this week, officials confirmed to the BBC that Lian Payne’s remains had been returned to his family and transported back to the United Kingdom following the completion of laboratory examinations and toxicological evaluations.
