Tyla, a Grammy Award-winning musician, has reached another milestone in her remarkable musical career by winning Best Afrobeats at the 2024 MTV Europe Music Awards, defeating fellow candidates Rema, Tems, and Asake.
Last night marked the 30th anniversary of the MTV Europe Music Awards (EMAs), which award exceptional musicians and breakthrough acts while presenting the finest of global music diversity.
The 30th edition of the MTV Europe Music Awards took place Friday night at the Co-op Arena. Rita Ora hosted, and top performers delivered standout performances.
Burna Boy, Tems, Rema, Asake, Ayra Starr, and Tyla were among the notable nominees for the Best Afrobeats category at the MTV EMAs.
On stage, Tyla expressed gratitude for the honor, acknowledging that her fellow nominees had significantly contributed to Afrobeats global growth.
Tyla also extended heartfelt gratitude to her Maker, family, and friends, whose unwavering support and encouragement fueled her journey to this remarkable achievement.
“Other nominees have taken Afrobeats so far; I’m honored to win this award. I want to thank my team, family, and fans, (the Tigers),for voting for me,” She said
