Kim Kardashian shared a melancholy post on social media on Saturday, reflecting on the bittersweet sides of parenting.
The 44-year-old influencer, renowned for her adoration of Emily Austen’s book Smarter: 10 Lessons for a More Productive and Less-stressed Life, posted an emotional quote on her Instagram Stories: “The sad part about motherhood is that you’re raising the one person you can’t live without… to be able to live without you.”
Kardashian did not attribute the quote to anyone.
As a single mother of four children—North, 11, Saint, 8, Chicago, 6, and Psalm, 5—whom she shares with ex-husband Kanye West, Kardashian’s post seemed to reflect her challenges.
A source recently revealed that Kanye “is sadly not around very much” for their children, leaving Kim to manage most of the parenting independently.
“Although she has help, it’s still a lot of work for her to balance and coordinate everything,” the source said.
The insider added, “Kim’s life is around her kids’ schedules. When they are in school, she works. When they are off, she’s very much focused on being a mom.”
The source also mentioned that Kim is not currently dating anyone, as her focus remains on her children and her career.
