Ellie Goulding has revealed that her new album will be highly personal, reflecting on her life after her split from spouse Caspar Jopling.
The 37-year-old singer and art dealer divorced in February and now co-parent their four-year-old son, Arthur.
While her previous album, ‘Higher Than Heaven,’ published two years ago, was centered on uplifting pop songs, Goulding has hinted that her next project, planned for release in 2025, will dive into her recent experiences.
“”Higher Than Heaven’ was actually intentionally impersonal,” she told ‘The Sun‘.
“It was post-baby, post-pandemic. I just wanted to write some solid pop songs that you can dance to.”
She added, “This time, it’s a little different. I’ve been writing about what’s been going on in my life. I’ve had more time to get in the studio and spend the time and sit. Songs don’t come that easily to me, especially when they’re from more of a personal place.”
