Enzo Maresca, the manager of Chelsea, believes his players lack the necessary experience to secure the Premier League title.
Following their 3-0 victory over Aston Villa, Maresca emphasized that despite their current good form, he remains cautious about his young team’s prospects.
Goals from Nicolas Jackson, Enzo Fernandez, and Cole Palmer helped Chelsea to level on points with Arsenal in second place with 25 points.
However, Maresca acknowledged that compared to Arsenal, Liverpool, and Manchester City, Chelsea still have a way to go in terms of experience in high-stakes matches and coping with the pressures of a title race.
He said: “These kind of players, some of them, in their life, in their experience, they have probably played one final.
“So you need to live moments to get better and when we start to get those moments, we will get better and we can compete,” he said.
“We are going to be there soon, but this is one of the reasons that we are still far and not ready to compete with those clubs.”
