Bayern Munich striker Harry Kane has suffered a ‘small muscle tear’, as announced by the club on Sunday.
Harry Kane had to leave the pitch in the first half of their game against Borussia Dortmund, coming off after 33 minutes with his team down 1-0.
The 31-year-old forward was replaced by Thomas Müller and immediately went to the tunnel. After the match, it was confirmed that Kane had a minor hamstring injury.
His absence will be a significant loss for Bayern Munich, as he has been a key player in their attack since joining from Tottenham Hotspur.
Despite the setback, Bayern managed to secure a draw against Dortmund, but now face a challenge as they prepare for upcoming games without their top scorer.
In an official statement, the club disclosed:
“Harry Kane suffered a small muscle tear in the back of his right thigh during yesterday’s Bundesliga match.
“This was confirmed by an examination by FC Bayern’s medical department. FC Bayern will have to do without Harry Kane for the time being.”
