Two Premier League teams, Wolves and Southampton, have decided to part ways with their managers.
Wolves made the decision to sack Gary O’Neil and his coaching staff after their 2-1 loss to Ipswich Town on Saturday.
Reacting, Wolves Chairman, Jeff Shi said: “We’re very grateful to Gary for all of his effort, dedication and hard work during his time at the club, and we wish him and his team the best of luck for the future.”
O’Neil had only been at Molineux for three days before the start of the 2023/24 Premier League season.
Southampton also made a managerial change, dismissing Russell Martin following a 5-0 defeat to Tottenham Hotspur.
Martin had achieved promotion with the Saints in his first season in charge, but their league form had been poor, with 13 losses in 16 games. Their only victory was against Everton in November, leaving them at the bottom of the Premier League table.
