Davido, a popular music artist, has revealed his thoughts on why Nigerians choose to give birth abroad.
There is a growing trend among upper and middle-class Nigerians opting to have their children overseas.
During a recent interview on The Morning Hustle podcast, Davido suggested that giving birth abroad is akin to securing an insurance policy. He explained that children born outside Nigeria have the advantage of obtaining foreign citizenship, better opportunities, top-notch medical facilities, and high-quality education, among other benefits.
“Giving birth abroad is a common trend among Nigerians. Apart from having better [medical] facilities overseas, people want to have their kids abroad to save them the hassle of applying for visas,” he said.
