Serena Williams won’t let the trolls get away with this one. The tennis champion recently responded to rumors and speculation despite her typical silence. She specifically clarified the situation when rumors that she had bleached her skin went viral.

Serena appeared to have a heated tone on a Live Bitez stream as she responded to the skin-bleaching discussions. Williams opens the video extract with a humorous explanation of how suntans work.

“For you haters out there. I do not bleach my skin. There is a thing called sunlight, and in that sunlight, you get different colors,” Serena said.
Additionally, Serena Williams called the bleaching comments “ridiculous.” She also seemingly blamed her skin tone variation on retouching photos and select moments, like when she wore stage makeup during her daughter’s play.
“I’m a dark black woman, and I love who I am, and I love how I look, and that’s just not my thing. And if people do it that’s their thing and they have every opportunity and they should. I don’t judge, but you guys do. But that’s what this world is about and I stay in my lane, the non-judgy one…but no I actually don’t bleach my skin. So, can we just kinda clear that up,” the tennis champ said.
