DJ Lamiez Holworthy recently shared an extraordinary family vacation to Dubai with her followers, providing insight into the highs and lows of travelling with her toddler son, Leano. Lamiez’s social media posts ranged from exhilarating exploits at the world’s largest water park to magical moments at Legoland, and they included both delight and some travel challenges.
On her visit to the world’s largest water park, Lamiez had a heartwarming experience with Leano, who was brave on the water slides. “Mommy and her Cocomelon visited the World’s Biggest Waterpark,” Lamiez had written. “Leano already loves water, but watching how reckless he is is both alarming and admirable. He insists on riding every other waterslide alone.
In his head, he is as big as his brother and sister.” She added a fun fact about herself: “Would you believe me if I told you I can’t swim?!”
The family’s trip also included a visit to Legoland, where Lamiez described the magical experience of enjoying the park with her loved ones. “LEGOLAND with my loves? Magical,” she shared. However, she faced the challenge of explaining to her nearly two-year-old son why he couldn’t go on most of the rides due to height and age restrictions. “Leano couldn’t go on 90% of the rides because he’s not old/tall enough, so imagine trying to explain that to an almost two-year-old?!” she wrote. But it wasn’t all frustration—Lamiez also overcame a personal fear when she braved a submarine ride with her kids, encouraged by her mom and husband. “I almost jumped out before the tour started, but my mom and hubby said I needed to be strong for the kids.”
The vacation wasn’t without its challenges, particularly the return flight. Lamiez opened up about the struggles she faced during the journey back when Leano experienced painful ear blockages. “Leano’s ears got irritated and blocked on the second [flight] and he cried uncontrollably,” she recalled. “As a mother, I felt so helpless when my son kept crying, ‘help me,’ while rubbing his ears. You could see how much pain he was in.” Despite the difficult moment, Lamiez remained strong, and they managed to calm Leano down.
The journey wasn’t easy, but Lamiez’s positive outlook shone through. “Travelling with kids, let alone a toddler, is hard work,” she admitted. “Overall, we made it. We loved it and we’re grateful. To many more trips and dope experiences for those I work and pray the hardest for.”
