Erling Haaland has signed a record-breaking deal with Manchester City, making him the highest-paid footballer in the world.
The nine-and-a-half-year contract, announced by the Premier League champions on Friday, is the most lucrative in football history. While the specifics of the deal were not disclosed, reports suggest that Haaland will earn close to £1 million a week.
This new contract surpasses his previous weekly package of £865,000, which made him one of the top earners in Europe. The terms of the new deal do not include a release clause and are believed to be similar to his previous contract, featuring various bonuses, loyalty payments, and image rights.
Since his arrival, Haaland has netted a staggering 111 goals in 126 games.
