The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has reversed its previous instruction regarding the 4% Free on Board (FOB) import charges.
Stakeholders are now being encouraged to update their declarations in order to proceed with the clearance of goods.
This decision was made in order to ensure transparency, consistency in customs operations, and to prevent any disruptions in the clearance process.
A press release issued by the National Public Relations Officer on behalf of the Comptroller-General of Customs, Assistant Comptroller of Customs, Abdullahi Maiwada, advised all stakeholders affected by the change to update their entries promptly using the designated customs processing platforms.
“The NCS has implemented measures to ensure a seamless process. Customs commands nationwide have been instructed to provide necessary support and clarifications to importers and agents requiring assistance during this period,” the statement read.
Stakeholders must comply promptly to avoid unnecessary delays in clearing their goods.
