The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has reaffirmed that Ezekiel Thank God, the former manager of gospel singer Mercy Chinwo, must appear before the Federal High Court in Ikoyi to face money laundering and dishonest conversion charges.
In a statement via its official X handle, the EFCC emphasized that Thankgod must be present for his arraignment before Justice A. O. Owoeye.
The charges against him involve the alleged misappropriation of $340,000, with claims that he retained $260,494 in an EEZEE Global Ministry bank account—funds allegedly belonging to Mercy Chinwo and fellow gospel artist Judith Kanayo.
On January 16, 2025, Justice Owoeye issued a bench warrant for Thankgod’s arrest after the EFCC informed the court that he had been evading arraignment.
The case has now been adjourned to March 6, 2025.
The EFCC has urged Thankgod to present himself in court, warning that failure to do so could lead to further legal consequences.
