FAAN resumes access gate fee collection at Abuja airport

Following a temporary suspension due to ongoing road construction, the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has resumed collecting access gate fees at Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja.

This was confirmed in a statement posted on their official X account on Saturday.

FAAN confirmed that the collection resumed at 8:30 AM on February 8, 2025.

“The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria wishes to inform the general public that the Authority has officially resumed collection of access gate fees at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, at 8:30 am, 8th February 2025.”

The authority halted fee collection on January 24, 2025, citing challenges caused by airport construction activities.

“The collection was suspended on the 24th of January due to the inconvenience caused by the road construction,” FAAN had stated.

PUNCH Online reports that FAAN had suspended all access gate fees at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja. And said that the decision was made to ease traffic congestion for airport road users.

It further noted that the suspension would be in effect from Friday, January 24, 2025, to Friday, February 7, 2025.
