Arsenal’s chances of winning the Premier League have taken a hit as Kai Havertz has been ruled out for the remainder of the season due to a torn hamstring suffered during a training camp in Dubai.
Along with a number of other key players like Bukayo Saka, Gabriel Jesus, and Gabriel Martinelli also out with injuries, manager Mikel Arteta faces a tough decision on who to field in their attacking lineup.
Recall Arteta had acknowledged Havertz’s versatility, stating, “He can play right attacking midfielder, left attacking midfielder, right winger…
“There is another position that I think he can develop into in a few years.”
When pressed further, he added, “Nine. When he’s got the goal in front of him, he just looks at the goal. He has a tremendous ability to put the ball into the back of the net.”
In light of these injuries, young talent Ethan Nwaneri has been considered as a possible solution. The fact that Arsenal did not secure any attacking reinforcements in the January transfer window is now becoming a major concern for Arteta.
Despite exploring options, the club was unable to bring in any new signings, leaving Arteta to rely on his current squad and young academy players.
