During a plenary session led by Senate President Godswill Akpabio, the Nigerian Senate officially passed the N54.9 trillion 2025 budget into law on Thursday.
The budget had been presented to the joint Chambers of the National Assembly on December 18, 2024, by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu with a proposed sum of N47.9 trillion.
Following weeks of legislative scrutiny, lawmakers decided to increase the budget to N54.9 trillion.
