Sowore breaks silence after attack by hoodlums in Lagos

Human rights activist and leader of #RevolutionNow Movement, Omoyele Sowore, has verified an assault on himself and his team during the Lagos City Marathon.

Earlier reports had indicated that the former presidential candidate of the African Action Congress, AAC, was violently attacked by political hooligans.

In a live Facebook video witnessed by our correspondent, the hooligans could be seen physically attacking Sowore, his team, and some individuals believed to be journalists.

Sowore confirmed the incident on his official Facebook page, assuring that he is safe and uninjured. According to him, the venue’s management accused them of occupying the “VVIP space post-event” illegally.

He wrote, “I am safe and unharmed in Lagos. Yes, some rogue elements launched an attack on us after completing the Lagos Marathon today, claiming that we unlawfully occupied the “VVIP” space post-event. They mobilized thugs to assault us”.
