Taylor Swift surpasses Madonna to become female artist with most UK Number 1 albums ever

Taylor Swift

Taylor Swift’s lucky number 13 strikes again as she breaks Official Chart records by achieving the most Number 1 albums for a female artist in the UK.

Surpassing Madonna, Taylor now holds the title with her 13th chart-topper, Lover (Live In Paris). Not only that, Taylor Swift also ties with Elvis Presley as the international artist with the most Number 1 albums in UK chart history.

Originally released in limited quantity in 2023, Lover (Live In Paris) sees a resurgence with a new heart-shaped 2LP vinyl variant released just in time for Valentine’s Day. With 47,000 units sold, the album becomes the first to reach Number 1 on pure sales alone in eight years. This marks a significant achievement since Taylor’s own reputation achieved the same feat in 2017 before being added to streaming services three weeks later.
