Ruben Amorim’s Manchester United narrowly avoided a Premier League defeat as a controversial last-minute Everton penalty was overturned following a VAR review at Goodison Park.
David Moyes’ Everton took a two-goal lead with Beto and Abdoulaye Doucoure finding the net, but United fought back with goals from Bruno Fernandes and Manuel Ugarte.
The dramatic match saw referee Andy Madley initially award Everton a penalty, only to reverse his decision after consulting the VAR monitor.
The draw leaves Manchester United still struggling for consistency under Amorim, while Moyes’ Everton will feel an opportunity was denied them in the thrilling contest.
