Disney has officially canceled its highly anticipated animated series ‘Tiana’, which was set to continue the story of the beloved character from The Princess and the Frog.
The decision comes as Disney Animation stops producing original long-form content for Disney+.
Despite the cancellation, fans won’t have to say goodbye to Princess Tiana just yet. Disney is developing a short-form special inspired by the film, with Joyce Sherri still attached as both director and writer.
Originally announced in 2020, Tiana was meant to follow the newly crowned Princess of Maldonia as she embarked on a new adventure while staying connected to her New Orleans roots. The series, which had been delayed from 2023 to 2024, has now been officially scrapped.
