Doja Cat has responded to criticism regarding her performance at the 2025 Academy Awards.

The musician, whose real name is Amala Dlamini, took the stage alongside RAYE and BLACKPINK’s Lisa to perform a medley of James Bond theme songs during the ceremony at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles.

Doja Cat sang a rendition of Diamonds Are Forever, originally performed by Shirley Bassey for the 1971 movie.

Following the performance, some observers noted that Doja Cat didn’t hit all the high notes. In a post on Instagram the next day, the artist admitted that she was affected by nerves during the performance.
