Doja Cat, known for her versatility, delivered a bold and unconventional performance at the 2025 Oscars, but it divided audiences.
As part of a special tribute to James Bond film music, she took on Shirley Bassey’s iconic ‘Diamonds Are Forever’—a daring choice that drew praise and criticism.
Some fans applauded her artistry, while others were less impressed with her vocal execution.
Addressing the mixed reception, Doja took to Instagram, admitting:
“What I did was brave and scary as fck for me… The nerves got to me, and a btch hit some flats. But I feel good that I pushed myself. The song is a classic, and I put a lot of work into it… I can’t wait to do something like that again.”
Despite the backlash, the singer expressed gratitude for the opportunity and remains eager to challenge herself artistically.
Toasting the segment overall (which also featured performances from Lisa and RAYE), she added:
“Also ALL the girls chewed down last night. God Bless them all. Absolutely gorgeous performances from everyone.”
