EFCC Has Not Arrested Aisha Achimugu, Says Media Aide

Aisha Achimugu Seals Multimillion-Dollar Oil and Gas Deal in Grenada

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has not arrested or detained businesswoman and philanthropist Aisha Achimugu, despite viral reports on social media, her media aide, David Abakpa, has confirmed.

In a statement addressing the fake news circulating on two blogs, Abakpa dismissed the claims as false and malicious, saying they were spread by individuals seeking to tarnish Achimugu’s reputation.

🗣️ “The claim that the EFCC has arrested Aisha Achimugu is completely false and a desperate attempt by malicious individuals to damage her hard-earned reputation,” he stated.

Abakpa emphasized that Achimugu is currently out of the country and urged the public to disregard the misleading reports.

💬 “Anyone can confirm from the Commission that she was neither arrested nor detained.”

He also described the allegations as a calculated attempt to undermine Achimugu and her company, Felak Concept Group, adding that the false reports had caused unnecessary distress to her associates, family, and supporters.

🚨 “This blatant lie is an act of intentional defamation designed to drag Dr. Achimugu’s name through the mud. We will not allow her reputation to be smeared by falsehoods.”

Achimugu, a well-known entrepreneur recognized for her contributions to job creation and youth empowerment, has built a strong international reputation for her legitimate business dealings.

🔍 Fact Check: No official statement from the EFCC has confirmed her arrest, further discrediting the online claims.
