Pastor Enoch Adeboye, the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, RCCG, revealed the challenges he faced during an evangelism program at the church seven years ago.
He explained how he collapsed in Ilesha due to the effects of a bad road, causing his body to completely break down.
During the annual Special Holy Ghost Service with the theme “Joy Unspeakable”, the renowned clergy shared his testimony of spending Christmas in bed for the first time because of the health crisis.
Adeboye recounted being airlifted to the camp after breaking down in Ilesha, despite some individuals attempting to prevent the helicopter from taking off, resulting in damage to one of the windows.
He said: “Seven years ago, during this same program, my body broke down completely due to the terrible road conditions.
“For the first time in my life, I spent Christmas Day in bed. The devil was certain he had finally got me.
“I collapsed in Ilesha, and to bring me back to the camp, we had to charter a helicopter. I was too weak to travel by road—if I had, I would not have made it”.
“Seven years later, I am still here! I want you to thank God for sparing my life”, Adeboye added after narrating the incident, urging the congregation to thank God for his life.
