Australian rapper Iggy Azalea has launched a scathing attack on Universal Music, accusing the label of owing her millions in unpaid royalties.
Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Azalea revealed that despite her successful career—including hits like “Fancy,” “Black Widow,” and debut album “The New Classic”—she has never been paid a single royalty outside of the U.S.
“Crazy how in my entire career I was never paid a single royalty by Universal Music for anything outside of the USA,” she wrote.
She further claimed that the label “stole” the earnings owed to her, estimating the unpaid amount to be in the eight-figure range. Azalea added that Universal recently attempted to settle the matter with a $18,000 offer, which she described as an insult.
Labeling Universal Music “criminals” who exploit artists, Azalea vowed to fight until she receives what she is owed.
“Thankfully, I’m well off and can and will pursue this issue until they pay me what they owe,” she asserted.
Her allegations have reignited discussions about artist exploitation in the music industry, with fans and fellow musicians rallying behind her call for accountability.
